Abstract
We study the coupling between an incident photon and the surface polaritons in a thin film with a grating surface. We employ the method of reduced Rayleigh equations in these calculations. We find that the saturation phenomenon in the strength of the electric field localized at the surface occurs for different values of the grating-amplitude magnitude for each surface-polariton mode.
