Abstract

A novel symmetrical back-to-back zero-bias operational uni-traveling carrier photodiode structure (S-BTB-UTC-PD) is proposed. Both the bandwidth and output power of the S-BTB-UTC-PD is significantly improved, compared with the traditional back-to-back UTC-PD under the same conditions.
