Abstract

As the inaugural volume in the OSA Trends in Optics and Photonics Series (TOPS), this publication provides a snapshot of the current advances in solid state lasers. Primarily this volume is a summary of the talks and posters presented at the 1996 OSA Topical Meeting on Advanced Solid State Lasers, which was held in San Francisco, California, from January 31 to February 2, 1996. Complementing the conference papers is a subject index, bibliography list and patent list.
