Abstract
A diode-pumped regenerative amplifier with a cooled Yb:LiYF4 crystal has been constructed for chirped pulse amplification. The output energy of 4.5 ml in a Q-switching operation mode was observed. The small signal gain and cavity loss were estimated to calculate an output energy of 12 ml in regenerative amplification of a chirped seed pulse.
