Abstract
A rapid time domain terahertz computed axial tomography (CT-TD-THz) system is used to reconstruct the three dimensional structure of aerospace components including: Kevlar soft shell fan containment systems, silica thermal protection tiles, and sprayed on foam thermal insulation. Unlike X-Ray CT, CT-TD-THz slices can be reconstructed with voxels proportional to index of refraction, extinction coefficient, and potentially other scalars derived from the same TD-THz waveform. Index and extinction representations measure different characteristics in the object under test.
