Photonic Crystal Enhanced Photoacoustic Detection

Abstract

A photonic crystal sensor has been demonstrated to enhance photoacoustic signal from light absorbing molecules. The developed system was applied to detect an absorbing dye and gold nanoparticles and exhibited signal enhancement over 40 times.
