Numerical Investigation of Ultrafast interaction between THz Fields and Crystalline Materials

Abstract

We present a quantum-mechanical molecular dynamics investigation of the interaction between strong single-cycle THz pulses and ionic crystals. We find nonlinearities in the response of the CsI crystals at field strengths higher than 10 MV/cm.
