Abstract

The novel fiber optic sensing scheme, based on fluorescent coating for various discharge sensing application is introduced and its results are presented. Detection of discharge magnitude as well as its location both in accessible and non-accessible areas are possible. Unique characteristics of no light source required, immune to EMI and safe operation are the major benefits of this system.
