High peak power picosecond pulses from an all-fiber master oscillator power amplifier seeded by a 1.95 μm gain-switched diode

Abstract

We present a 1.95 μm gain-switched diode-seeded master oscillator power amplifier system producing 35-ps pulses with high peak power of up to 295 kW at 1-MHz repetition rate from a large-mode-area (LMA) thulium doped fiber.
