Amplification decay of Er-doped H2-loaded fiber caused by UV exposure

Abstract

Twofold decrease in the amplification of the UV-irradiated hydrogen-loaded Er3+-doped silica fiber was observed. This effect has to be taken into accont at the DFB fiber laser design.
