Generation of 465 nm light by frequency doubling of a diode laser in two passively coupled ring resonators

Abstract

A Potassium-Niobate-crystal inside a high finesse ring resonator generates the second harmonic of infrared light from a low finesse ring resonator driven by a broad area diode. They modelock by design without active control.
