Photonically-Enabled Microwave Function Generation Via Tailored Distortion

Abstract

We demonstrate a microwave function generator based on precisely engineering the distortion in a microwave photonic link. By distorting a 5-GHz sinusoid we are able to generate a 5-GHz triangle wave and square pulse train.
