Abstract

We report a study of self-modulated laser plasma wakefields, at densities down to ~5×10¹⁷cm⁻³, driven by the mid IR (λ=10.6μm), 4ps long, 2-Joule laser pulses from the BNL/ATF CO₂ laser.
