Outage Capacity for Spliced Mode Multiplexed Multi-mode Fiber Links

Abstract

We investigate numerically the influence of fiber splices to the multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) outage capacity in mode multiplexed multi-mode fiber links. The capacity of long-haul transmission systems will be significantly influenced.
