Highly-Tm3+ doped Hexagonal Clad Germanate Fiber and associated CPA system for 2 µm Pulsed Fiber Lasers and Amplifiers

Abstract

We developed a high concentration (8.5* 1020 ions/cm3) Tm3+ doped germanate fiber. By core-pumping it in a Chirped Pulse Amplification (CPA) system, we produced 240fs pulses with 42 MW peak-power, a record for this glass.
