A probe beam which encodes aberrations

Abstract

Using a structured probe beam provides the potential for extraction of strengths of aberrations experienced by the beam as it traverses the optical system. Using a Bessel beam, the single pass PSF may be observed as a distorted annulus when imaged back through the same optics.
