Detection and Mapping of Specular Surfaces Using Multibounce Lidar Returns

Abstract

We show that specular surfaces can be detected and localized from measurements of the time-of-flight and angle-of-arrival of multibounce return signals. We experimentally demonstrate these principles by scanning the shapes of a window and mirror.
