Abstract

We propose an ultra compact structure for Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) systems using resonance cavity in Photonic Crystal (PC) structure. To the best of our knowledge, this is for the first time that a PC-based demultiplexer has been achieved with 0.8nm channel spacing, −18.77dB and 4170 average crosstalk and quality factor, respectively without using particular materials or complexities in fabrication.
