Abstract

Passive harmonically mode-locked erbium-doped fiber ring laser with repetition rate up to 1.2 GHz has been demonstrated. Through investigating the dynamics of pulse generation, it is found that a new operation mode, harmonic mode-locking of multipulse bunching, favors higher order harmonics.
