Abstract

A swept-source optical coherence tomography (SS-OCT) system with a specially designed probe is built for clinical scanning of oral submucous fibrosis (OSF) patients. By analysing 44 OSF cases of SS-OCT scanning results, two indicators, including epithelium thickness and standard deviation, are found useful for real-time OSF diagnosis.
