Abstract

The electro-optic (EO) responses of poled polymers were enhanced by incorporating them into reflection-type planar microcavities. We fabricated the microcavity with an enhanced local field in the EO polymer and evaluated the resultant enhancement of phase sensitivity to induced refractive-index changes in the EO polymer using spectroscopic reflection ellipsometry.
