Abstract

For the same given cores’ area in three kinds of dual (circular, elliptical, egg-shaped) core fiber, the relationship of the coupling length with different wavelength is calculated and examined. The influence of the cores’ shape and pitch in dual-core fiber on the modal field profile and coupling characteristics is discussed.
