A Compact and Novel Polarization Beam Splitter Based on Negative Refractive Photonic Crystal Slab

Abstract

A compact polarization beam splitter (PBS) based on a silicon-based negative refractive photonic crystal slab is proposed and numerically demonstrated. The PBS has good performance that the crosstalk and extinction ratio are above 20dB over 80nm wavelength band.
