Abstract

A dual-parallel-core fiber is proposed for dispersion compensation of single mode fibers (SMFs) by using coupled-mode theory. From the numerical results, the two-parallel-core structure exhibits very high negative chromatic dispersion [−9.7794×105ps/km/nm], and full width at half maximum dispersion (FWHM) of ~6nm.
