Design of a Hybrid Slot Plasmonic Waveguide with Nanoscale Light Confinement and Its Application for Ultrafast All-Optical Switching

Abstract

We design a novel hybrid slot plasmonic waveguide with a long propagation length of 1020 µm and a small effective mode area of 6.4×10−2 µm2. We simulate and achieve ultrafast all-optical switching using non-degenerate FWM in the waveguide.
