Optimization of tapered optical fiber probe for evanescent wave sensor

Abstract

Geometries of tapered optical fiber probe are optimized to achieve large evanescent wave penetration depth for the throughout probe, providing a sufficient sensing region capable of covering microbes in fiber-based evanescent wave sensors.
