Abstract
A multilongitudinal mode fiber laser sensor for temperature measurement is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The beat frequency signal between any two modes varies linearly with the temperature. In the experiment, two different beat frequency signals with the sensitivities of −4.22 KHz/°C @ 1004.8 MHz and −16.78 KHz/°C @ 4041.2 MHz are studied between 30°C to 220°C. The sensor system presented is simple and low-cost.
