A Novel Sleep Scheme for Optical Network Unit Based on Downstream Traffic Scheduling in EPON

Abstract

This paper focuses on the energy saving in Ethernet Passive Optical Network (EPON). A novel sleep scheme is proposed based on the downstream traffic scheduling. Simulation results show good performances of the proposed scheme.
