On Enhancement of Absorption and Fluorescence within Metal Nanostructures

Abstract

Metal nanostructures can enhance the optical absorption and fluorescence emission in incorporated media. We numerically and experimentally show that high intrinsic absorption of metals in the visible range may suppress the effects beyond nonradiative damping.
