Abstract

We develop an analytical model for evaluating lightpath blocking performance under the color and directional add/drop constraints. Compared to the simulation results, the analytical model can validly predict optical network performance. Also, it is found that the colorless feature is important to bring a significant performance improvement to the optical networks.
