Optimisation of Fabrication and Specification of Quantum Cascade Lasers for Spectroscopic Applications

Abstract

Broad gain design concepts can be applied either to devices used as gain media in external cavity arrangements or to DFB single-mode devices. The trade-offs and opportunities of applying these concepts to optical spectroscopy are discussed.
