Abstract

This paper proposes a dynamic routing and spectrum allocation scheme in the FWDM networks with modulation format conversion ability at intermediate nodes. The scheme reduces blocking probabilities of the networks without requiring additional bandwidths or changing the existing traffic. Simulation results demonstrate efficient reductions in blocking rates of the network.
