Demonstration of a Novel Twin 10×10 WSS for Application in a Flexible Spectrum, Colorless and Directionless ROADM

Abstract

We propose a novel flexible spectrum colorless-directionless ROADM node that incorporates a twin MxN WSS (2 independently switched devices). A prototype LCoS-based twin 10×10 WSS is demonstrated and insertion loss, isolation performance is reported.
