Differentiating Early Oral Cancer from Normal Oral Tissue Using Diffuse Reflectance Spectroscopy

Abstract

We determined the in-vivo optical properties of oral cancer tissue of hamsters using our diffusing probe. We observed that the absorption and scattering of cancer and normal sites were distinct in the 500-800nm spectral range.
