Abstract

Optical grid networks gained widespread acceptance among research and business communities. Compute-intensive applications require fast communication paths for their data transfer and high-speed computation resources for executing their jobs. Jobs are divided into multiple tasks, some of which can be executed in parallel while others must be in sequential order. We propose an exact task assignment and scheduling model for advance reservations in order to allocate grid resources. Some preliminary results are presented.
