A simple microwave photonic downconverter with high conversion efficiency based on a polarization modulator

Abstract

A simple microwave photonic downconverter is proposed and experimentally demonstrated based on a single polarization modulator. The conversion gain can reach 10.74 dB and the spur-free dynamic range is 99.79 dB·Hz2/3.
