Brillouin amplification of light beams with orbital angular momentum

Abstract

We present and demonstrate the amplification of light beams carrying orbital angular momentum (OAM) based on stimulated Brillouin scattering. High-efficiency (~50%) and high-gain (~109) Brillouin amplification of OAM modes are achieved.
