Abstract

We propose a 6PolSK-QPSK transmitter scheme, which is based on one DD-MZM in each polarization component. This transmitter scheme simplifies optical components and each DD-MZM is driven by two independent four-levels electrical signals with peak-to-peak drive voltage of 3Vπ/2, which is considerable in practical realization. The performance of proposed transmitter scheme, when DD-MZMs are operated at different biased points is investigated through simulations.
