In-Plane Mid-Infrared Optical Absorption of Graphene on Silicon-on-Sapphire Waveguides

Abstract

We present the optical absorption study of graphene on silicon-on-sapphire waveguide in the mid-infrared region (2.75 µm wavelength). The waveguide loss of ~0.024 dB/µm was measured which agrees with the finite element method simulations.
