Cross-layer Restoration with Software Defined Networking in IP over Optical Networks

Abstract

We present a novel cross-layer restoration with OpenFlow protocol in IP over Optical network. Required Openflow interactions are detailed. Simulations show that recovery success rate is improved and resilience time decreases compared to conventional restoration.
