Long Period Grating in Multicore Fiber and Its Application for Measurement of Temperature and Strain

Abstract

We experimentally realized long period gratings (LPGs) in multicore fibers by using commercial fusion splicer with electric arc discharges method. The resonant depths offer the capabilities for achieving measurement of temperature and strain.
