Reconfigurable non-blocking 5-port optical router based on microring resonators

Abstract

A reconfigurable non-blocking 5-port optical router composed of only 8 thermo-optic tuned microring-resonator optical switches is demonstrated. The optical SNR is characterized and 32 Gbps WDM data transmission has been performed.
