Optimum Design of Hybrid Raman-EDFA System to Maximize Aggregate Capacity

Abstract

Optimizing the aggregate capacity in a broad-band system is a challenging task. We review the optimization of a hybrid Raman-EDFA system design and demonstrate a record capacity of 54 Tb/s over 9,150 km.
