Abstract

The direct-detected optical OFDM spectral efficiency has been enhanced with three reviewed solutions, a multiband scheme, a receiver DSP scheme, and a PDM scheme. A self-polarization diversity PDM scheme guarantees SE enhancement with conventional receivers.
