Abstract

We propose a novel microwave photonic filter with multiple independently tunable passbands based on an incoherent broadband optical source. A proof-of-concept experiment is performed. An MPF with two passbands is experimentally demonstrated. The two passbands can be tuned independently from DC to 30 GHz with 3-dB bandwidth of 250 MHz. The stability of the MPF is also investigated. The number of passbands can be further extended.
