Abstract

A new ultra-low loss fiber is numerically proposed. We have shown loss of less than 0.3dB/km at 1310nm, 0.18dB/km at 1550nm for step-index fibers which consist of conventional glass compositions while satisfying ITU-G.652.D attributes.
