High Speed Coherent Transmission for Next-Generation Optical Transport Networks

Abstract

High speed transmission technologies for terabit-class channel transport over optical networks are described. High baud rate QAM signal generation based on electrical synthesis and broadband coherent detection enable simple and cost-effective transponder implementation.
