Mode Field Diameter Measurement of Two-mode Fiber Using Conventional OTDR

Abstract

We demonstrate that the mode field diameter of a two-mode fiber can be measured within a relative error of less than 5% using a conventional OTDR when the mode coupling loss between modes is not considered.
