Demonstration of CD Pre-compensated Direct Detection PAM4 40km Transmission in C-band Using DDMZM

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate the generation and transmission of 56 Gb/s DSB and SSB PAM4 using a DDMZM. DSB outperforms SSB by 6 dB in B2B scenario as well as after 40 km when dispersion pre-compensation is employed in the latter case.
