Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate reconfigurable all-fiber pre and post mode exchange for short-reach mode division multiplexing (MDM) networks, in which mechanically induced long period fiber grating (LPFG) is utilized to swap modes in few-mode fiber (FMF).
